The tour was great. We’d been to Madrid twice before, but we couldn’t get into the palace because of the protocols. They say the third time’s the charm. This time we finally made it!

The guided tour at the palace was very cool and I learned many new things, like the fact that the original kitchen is actually located 30 minutes away. It was interesting to hear that they now set up temporary kitchens in neighboring rooms for current events to keep things running smoothly. My personal highlights were definitely the cathedral and the entrance area, especially because of the stunning ceiling paintings.

I visited the Royal Collections Gallery at the Royal Palace in Madrid today. Everything was superb, I felt unexpectedly good and the whole visit was very well documented, with videos about royalty Spain. It is worth visiting this Palace and especially the Royal Collection.

It was a very interesting visit. There was no need to buy skip-the-line tickets because there were few people and no lines. The exhibition on Queen Elizabeth II was very well documented and revealed a charismatic human being with a sense of statehood. We were sorry that we only visited the part related to the Bourbons. The part related to the Habsburgs will have to wait for another opportunity.
