As for the best month to visit, March to May brings you front-row seats to nature's Broadway show — complete with cherry blossoms as the backdrop, crane couples practicing their ballroom moves, and baby red pandas stealing the spotlight. Or catch the autumn edition (September-November) when the maple trees rock their best fall colors, and bears start to get ready for the winter. Invertebrates

Tiny but mighty invertebrates may not get the same fanfare as big cats or birds of prey, but they keep ecosystems running like a well-oiled machine. At Zoo Koki, you’ll find butterflies flitting like nature’s confetti, beetles flaunting their unique beauty, and stick insects mastering the art of disguise. These often-overlooked creatures are essential for pollination and ecological balance, and the zoo’s educational displays shine a well-deserved spotlight on their contributions to biodiversity.

Mammals

Zoo Koki is practically a VIP lounge for mammals, with around 150 species calling it home. You’ll spot jaguars prowling like jungle royalty, ocelots showing off their sleek moves, and capuchin monkeys plotting their next mischief-filled adventure. With some of these species endangered, the zoo takes conservation seriously, running breeding programs and habitat protection initiatives. Visitors get a front-row seat to the action, learning about how these mammals survive, hunt, and—let’s be honest—nap like champions.

Reptiles

Cold-blooded but undeniably cool, the reptiles at this zoo range from ancient-looking tortoises to slithering snakes and quick-footed lizards. Many of them, unfortunately, are threatened by habitat loss and illegal trade. The zoo’s conservation programs aim to turn that around, educating visitors on reptile preservation and why these scaly creatures deserve a little more love.

Birds

From chatty parrots to enigmatic owls and high-flying raptors, the birdlife at Zoo Koki is nothing short of spectacular. The "Lords of Air" area lets you see these winged wonders in action, with flight demonstrations that’ll make you wish you had your own pair of wings. Whether they’re soaring, hunting, or just fluffing up their feathers dramatically, these birds know how to command attention.
