Despite their apparent compatibility, the relationship between Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda (later Glinda the Good Witch) is tested by their polar opposite personalities and perspectives on life. About Show

Cabaret is set in Berlin during the early 1930s, as political tensions rise and nightlife becomes a refuge from uncertainty. The musical follows American writer Cliff Bradshaw and English performer Sally Bowles as their lives intersect inside the Kit Kat Klub, where entertainment masks fear, desire, and denial. With music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and a book by Joe Masteroff, Cabaret musical in Madrid draws from Christopher Isherwood’s Berlin stories and John Van Druten’s play I Am a Camera. This Madrid production places the audience within the club itself, blurring the line between spectator and participant while retaining the musical’s core themes of escapism, complicity, and survival.

The Story

New arrival Cliff Bradshaw rents a room in Berlin and becomes involved with nightclub performer Sally Bowles, whose carefree charm hides growing instability. Around them, the Kit Kat Klub continues its nightly performances, led by the Emcee, even as the outside world darkens. As romance, fear, and political reality collide, the question remains: how long can entertainment distract from what is coming?
